Senior Manager of Mexico Operations

Location: Atlanta, GA | In Office

Position Summary:   

The Senior Manager of Mexico Operations will oversee and optimize all aspects of our Mexico cross-border logistics, ensuring seamless, compliant, and efficient operations. This role is accountable for building a resilient carrier and vendor network, enhancing cross-border processes, and leading operational teams to deliver high-quality service and consistent results. With a focus on operational excellence, compliance, and strategic execution, the Director will play a critical role in positioning the company as the most reliable partner for U.S.–Mexico supply chains.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead all Mexico operations, including carrier management, customs coordination, and cross-border execution, ensuring service reliability and scalability. 

  • Continuously evaluate and refine workflows to improve transit times, reduce costs, and increase overall efficiency. 

  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Mexico-based carriers, customs brokers, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth and compliant operations. 

  • Oversee adherence to trade regulations, customs requirements, and security protocols on both sides of the border. 

  • Establish and monitor KPIs around on-time performance, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction, driving continuous improvement. 

  • Identify and mitigate risks in supply chain operations, ensuring contingency plans and resilience strategies are in place. 

  • Work closely with Sales, Finance, and U.S. Operations to align operational capacity with business demand and customer requirements. 

  • Recruit, train, and mentor Mexico operations staff, fostering a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement. 

  •  Partner with account teams to ensure customers experience consistent, high-quality service and problem resolution. 

  •  Build operational infrastructure and processes that support future expansion and increased market share in Mexico. 

 

Core Competencies:  

  • Deep understanding of Mexico–U.S. cross-border logistics and trade compliance. 

  • Proven ability to lead and scale logistics operations, including carrier and vendor management. 

  • Strong background in process improvement, operational metrics, and cost optimization. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex cross-border challenges. 

  • Skilled in building and managing high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities across internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required; bicultural experience strongly preferred. 

  • Experience with Cargado is preferred  

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or related field  

  • 5–10+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain, with at least 5 years focused on cross-border (U.S.–Mexico) operations. 

  • Proven success in logistics sales, account management, and carrier procurement, with experience in pricing strategy and capacity management specific to the Mexico market. 

  • Demonstrated ability to build and grow strategic partnerships with carriers, customers, and customs brokers on both sides of the border, consistently achieving revenue and profitability targets. 

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
