As our billing department expands, we’re excited to welcome a motivated intern to the team! This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to one of the most critical functions of our business.

Position Summary:

The Preliminary Billing Intern plays a vital role in supporting the Billing Department by generating accurate customer invoices before receiving carrier invoices. This position helps ensure revenue flows remain uninterrupted. The intern will gain hands-on experience with load documentation, customer requirements, and internal billing processes, while developing organizational and cross-departmental communication skills. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and send invoices to customers prior to receipt of carrier invoices 

• Ensure billing practices align with specific customer requirements and preferences 

• Verify the accuracy, legibility, and completeness of Proof of Delivery (POD) documents  

• Review and prioritize the unbilled loads list; focus on billing the oldest aging loads  

• Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., operations) to resolve discrepancies  

• Assist in documenting billing procedures and identifying areas for process improvement
