Operations Manager
Chattanooga, TN | Onsite Role | Full-Time
KCH Transportation is a fast-growing third-party logistics (3PL) company dedicated to delivering customized freight solutions for our customers nationwide. We’re looking for a driven and experienced Operations Manager to lead our onsite team and optimize daily load planning, carrier sourcing, and overall transportation execution.
What You’ll Do:
Oversee daily freight operations: Ensure timely and accurate execution of load planning, carrier assignment, and shipment tracking to meet customer expectations.
Lead and support a high-performing team: Provide hands-on coaching and mentorship to operations staff while setting clear performance goals and expectations.
Optimize transportation strategies: Use data and analytics to make decisions on route optimization, carrier selection, and load consolidation to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Refine TMS configurations and workflows: Align system settings with operational goals to streamline processes and drive better outcomes.
Drive continuous improvement: Identify process gaps and implement strategic initiatives to increase speed, accuracy, and service quality across the department.
Monitor performance metrics: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, carrier compliance, margin targets, and load volume to ensure goals are consistently met or exceeded.
Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with sales, customer service, billing, and leadership teams to create a unified approach to customer success and operational growth.
Ensure regulatory compliance: Maintain a strong understanding of DOT and industry regulations to uphold safety and compliance standards across all freight movements.
Champion customer service: Act as a point of escalation for high-priority shipments or issues, resolving challenges with urgency and professionalism.
Promote a solution-oriented culture: Encourage your team to approach problems with initiative, creativity, and a strong sense of ownership.

Job requirements
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or distribution operations.
2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role within a fast-paced logistics environment.
Solid knowledge of transportation regulations (DOT) and industry best practices.
Strong communication, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
