LTL Operations Specialist

Location: This position will be in office in either our Chattanooga, TN or Nashville, TN branch.

Start Date: ASAP

Position Summary:

The LTL Operations Specialist is responsible for delivering operationally excellent transportation services within our less-than-truckload (LTL) division. This role manages the day-to-day execution of LTL shipments, serving as the key link between carriers, internal stakeholders, and customers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, solutions-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between LTL carriers and internal stakeholders by booking shipments, securing capacity and pricing, and managing post-delivery adjustments.

  • Act as the main point of contact for carriers and customers to ensure seamless execution and resolution of operational needs.

  • Track and trace LTL shipments to provide timely updates and proactive issue management.

  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry within the Transportation Management System (TMS).

  • Identify opportunities for efficiency, cost savings, and process improvements; assist with implementation of changes.

  • Interpret, train, and enforce company policies and procedures consistently.

  • Perform additional duties, as qualified, to support team and departmental success.

Job requirements

Education/Experience:

  • HS Diploma/GED. Associate degree preferred.

  • 1 year of previous transportation/distribution experience preferred

  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
