Position Summary
As a Carrier Risk Analyst in the Carrier Compliance team at KCH Transportation, you will be responsible for assessing and validating the integrity, legitimacy, and risk profile of carriers in our network as well as newly onboarded carriers. This role plays a critical part in protecting the company and its customers from fraud, double brokering, and other forms of carrier misconduct. You'll be empowered to investigate alerts, review carrier activity, and make real-time decisions that directly impact transportation security and operational success.

Key Responsibilities
Review and verify carrier onboarding documentation, including FMCSA authority, insurance, W-9s, and safety ratings.
Authenticate carrier identity through contact verification, digital footprint analysis, and database cross-checks.
Monitor carrier profiles for red flags such as mismatched information, duplicate entities, and suspicious patterns.
Investigate fraud alerts and incidents using internal tools, third-party platforms and situational awareness.
Make judgment calls on whether to approve, override, escalate, or block carrier usage in high-risk or ambiguous situations.
Communicate findings and decisions clearly to operations, risk management, and leadership in a timely manner.
Assist in ongoing compliance audits and documentation efforts to ensure adherence to internal standards and industry regulations.
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, dispatch, claims, and credit departments to align risk and service goals.
Contribute to the development of SOPs and best practices related to carrier validation and fraud prevention.
Job requirements
Required:
2+ years of experience in a carrier compliance, risk, fraud, or transportation operations role at a 3PL or freight brokerage.
Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies in data.
Excellent judgment and decision-making under pressure.
Solid understanding of carrier onboarding, FMCSA requirements, and transportation fraud trends.
Ability to work independently while also collaborating within a fast-paced team.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Analytical mindset with the ability to think and react quickly
Intermediate MS Office knowledge base.
Preferred:
Experience using fraud detection tools (e.g., Highway, TextLocate, Carrier411, SaferWatch, RMIS).
Exposure to claims, legal, or insurance issues in freight operations.
